The South Santiam Watershed Council (SSWC) is a non-profit organization representing a broad range of stakeholders who live, work, and recreate in the South Santiam Watershed. Stakeholders include rural and urban residents, private landowners, private timber industry, agricultural interests, local businesses, community organizations, schools, and city, county, state, and federal governments.

Through the Model Watershed Program, the SSWC works in partnership with the North Santiam Watershed Council as organizations that share similar landscapes and challenges to watershed health. The WRI provides an annual capacity grant to this partnership to implement on-the-ground projects in each watershed, including work in the McDowell Creek and Hamilton Creek sub-basins in the South Santiam watershed.
